Many people find that once they learn some simple shortcut keys, they prefer navigating the internet by keyboard in certain situations rather than always using the mouse. Here are some common handy shortcuts. Try them out and see which ones you might like to use:
F1 | Displays the Help file |
F4 | Places your cursor in the address bar and displays a list of web addresses you recently typed |
[Ctrl]+N | Opens a New window |
[Alt]+[Home] | Takes you to your Home pag |
[Ctrl]+[Right Arrow] | Returns to previous page (same as"Back" button) |
[Ctrl]+[Left Arrow] | Returns to next page (same as "Next" button) |
[Up Arrow] | Scrolls up on the page |
[Down Arrow] | Scrolls down on the page |
[Page Up] | Scrolls up on the page in larger portions |
[Page Down] | Scrolls down on the page in larger portions |
Note: These shortcuts have been verified to work with Internet Explorer 7 and Internet Explorer 8. They may or may not work with earlier versions but feel free to try.
